Das Erdgeschoss ist ebenerdig und handicap-free. Der 1. Stock ist nur über eine Treppe zu erreichen und somit für handicaps nicht geeignet.
The ground floor is completly level. Therefore it is perfect for handicaps like a wheelchair. The 1st floor is only atainable over the stairway. Therefore it is not made for wheelchairs.
Das Haus ist raucherfrei. Für die Raucher stehen der Garten, die Veranda oder der Balkon zur Verfügung.
The house is non-smoking. If you still have to smoke please go to the garden, the veranda or the balcony as nearest.
Für südafrikanische Verhältnisse ist das Haus sehr sicher gelegen. Es liegt Abseits der Siedlungsschwerpunkte und Shelley Point verfügt über eigenes Wachpersonal. Das Haus, und damit auch die Appartements, ist, wie fast alle Häuser in SA, mit einer Alarmanlage ausgestattet.
For South African conditions the house lies in a very safe area. It has a control gate, day and night watchmen and an alarm system. It was built with the idea of high security. The direct neighbours live there permanently since the very beginning.
Der naheliegende Sandstrand ist ca. 4 km lang.
The close by beach is about 4 km long.
Mit gutem Gewissen können wir auch die Guestfarm "Linquenda" unserer Freunde Christa und Pine Domesle-Pienaar empfehlen. Unsere Reise nach und von Südafrika beginnt und endet immer auf "Linquenda". Sie liegt in der Nähe von Stellenbosch mitten im Grünen und ohne direkte Nachbarn. Man erreicht Stellenbosch und die dort liegenden Weinfarmen, den Flughafen von Kapstadt und Kapstadt selbst, die Umgebung sowie Somerset West schnell von dort.

The farm lies close to Stellenbosch in the wine fields and you reach Cape Town airport in about 25 minutes as well as Somerset West and (the) Strand..

In Gordons Bay, etwa 1 h von Kapstadt entfernt und mit Blick auf den Tafelberg und noch besser, auf das Meer, vermieten Christa und Pine auch ein Ferienhaus mit 3 Schlafzimmern. Es ist das Elternhaus von Christa und wurde von Ihrem Vater Walter, er ist Bauingenieur aus München und lebt jetzt auch auf Linquenda, erbaut. Eine Wegbeschreibung liegt bei Pine oder mir vom Flughafen Kapstadt zu dem Ferienhaus in Gordens Bay vor. Wir haben dort auch schon viel Zeit zugebracht.
Christa and Pine also let a 3 bedroom house in Gordons Bay with a view over False Bay and Table Mountain. You can get directions from Cape Town airport or the farm "Linquenda" from Pine or me.
"Linquenda" ist ca. 2 h von Shelley Point entfernt. Buchungen können auch über Christa und Pine vorgenommen werden. Pine hat unser Haus in Shelley Point während der Bauphase betreut. Er, Christa und Tochter Heidi sind auch jetzt öfter in unserem Haus in Shelley Point und sehen nach dem Rechten.
"Linquenda" is about 2 hours away from Shelley Point. Bookings can also be made through Christa and Pine.
Christa ist Ärztin mit eigener Praxis in Stellenbosch und spricht, zusammen mit der Tochter Heidi, auch perfekt deutsch. Sie ist deutscher Abstammung. Pine ist südafrikanischer Abstammung und kommt aus der Gegend von Pretoria (die Hauptstadt von Südafrika). Mittlerweile spricht auch er leidlich deutsch, auch wenn er dies nie in der Schule gelernt hat. Ihr Haus (nicht die Gästeappartements) wurde für mich barrierefrei umgebaut, so dass es für mich auch möglich ist, dort zu übernachten.
Christa is a medical doctor and has her own practice in Stellenbosch. She speaks perfect Africans, English and German. She is of German origin.
Wir empfehlen Shelley Point zum Erholen und Linquenda, um etwas mehr über Südafrika zu erfahren und die Umgebung von Kapstadt (z.B. Stellenbosch) und Kapstadt selbst kennenzulernen.

Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch ist die zweit älteste Stadt Südafrikas und wurde 1679 von Simon van der Stel (damals Governeur der Dutch East India Company) von Kapstadt aus gegründet. Die hübsche alte Stadt ist das Herz der ältesten Weinroute Südafrikas. Schöne Häuser und alte Eichenbäume säumen die Straßen. Hier gibt es neben den Restaurants auch Straßencafes. 4 dieser alten Häuser bilden das historische Museum. Die Universität, mit mehr als 14000 Studenten, geben der Stadt ein jugendliches Ambiente.
Stellenbosch is the second oldest town of South Africa and was established in 1679 by Simon van der Stel (at this time he was Governor of the Dutch East Indian company). The pretty old town is now the heart of the oldest Wine Route in South Africa. Well-preserved historical houses and oak trees line the streets. Besides the restaurants you will find here street-cafes as well. 4 of these old houses today form the comprehensive historical Museum in Stellenbosch. The university of more than 14.000 students gives the town a vibrant and youthful atmosphere.
Paarl
Dies ist der Nachbarort von Stellenbosch (ca 20 min. Entfernung) und die drittälteste Stadt von Südafrika. Sie liegt etwa 40 Minuten vor Kapstadt. Paarl ist am Fuß der zweitgrößten Granite-Abbau-Stelle der Welt plaziert. Die landsachaftliche Schönheit des Paarl-Tals lädt die Besucher dazu ein, entlang der vielen schönen Routen im Tal oder den angrenzenden Bergen zu fahren. In Paarl steht auch das Africaans Language Monument. Und es gibt ebenfalls eine Weinroute.
This is the neighbour village of Stellenbosch (about 20 min drive) and the third-oldest town of South Africa. One needs about 40 min to drive out from Cape Town. Its placed at the foot of the second-largest granite outcrop in the world. The scenic beauty of the Paarl Valley invites visitors to drive along the many cenic routes in the valley and along the surrounding mountains. In Paarl is also placed the Afrikaans Language Monument. And there is a wine route.
